ETS Modern Slavery Statement

At ETS, our mission is to advance quality and equity in education for all learners worldwide. For the last 75 years, we’ve been driven by a vision of what’s possible when all people can improve their lives through education. Our mission and core values reflect our commitment to fair labor practices and supply chain that is free of human trafficking and forced labor.

This statement was developed and is intended to be published in accordance with the requirements of the UK Modern Slavery Act of 2015. It sets out the steps ETS takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our workplaces and across our supply chain.

Who we are

ETS is a not-for-profit entity headquartered in Princeton, NJ USA with for-profit subsidiaries operating globally. See https://www.ets.org/about/locations.html for ETS and ETS Subsidiary locations. ETS revenue is derived primarily from the development and delivery of assessments and tailored and licensed assessment and measurement solutions.

ETS employees consist primarily of professional staff. Our supply chain consists primarily of software and related services, test center operators, and professional service providers.

Our Policies

In alignment with our mission and core values, ETS has adopted a Code of Conduct and supporting internal policies and procedures that outline our respect for human rights, commitment to cultivating diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture, health and safety, and a working environment free of discrimination and harassment.

The ETS Supplier Code of Conduct extends the commitments we make in our Code of Conduct to our supply chain, requiring a similar commitment of our suppliers to human rights and fair labor practices.

Risk Management and Due Diligence

Periodically, ETS conducts a modern slavery and human trafficking risk assessment to identify and respond to these risks within our internal operations and supply chain. The compliance obligations already applicable to ETS and the results of this risk assessment drive updates to our hiring and employment practices and our risk-based third-party due diligence program.

Training and Enforcement

All employees are trained on the Code of Conduct, which addresses our commitments to human rights, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, health and safety, and prevention of discrimination and harassment. Employees in hiring and supply chain management functions may receive additional training as required to support the implementation of policies and procedures. ETS maintains an Ethics Hotline to support the reporting, investigation, and remediation of illegal or unethical conduct or the violation of internal policies. Retaliation for reports made in good faith is prohibited. Employees and suppliers engaged in retaliation are subject to termination of employment or contract.
