Abstract

Standard ANOVA provides a relatively ineffective test of developmental change when several age levels are involved and a roughly monotonic age trend can be assumed. A hypothetical example here serves to illustrate the point. An alternative use of ANOVA is suggested, and the value of the proposed solution is shown in reanalysis of published data. (10pp.)
