Abstract
This paper was delivered at the College Testing Conference, sponsored jointly by the Committee on Liberal Arts Education of the North Central Association and by ETS, at Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, on February 15, 1957. It discusses studies and procedures in administration and scoring of essay examinations. The author suggests that in order to improve essay examination, tables must continually be kept on how they are working.
