Florencia Tolentino is a research associate at the Center for Language Education and Assessment Research (CLEAR) in the Research and Measurement Sciences area at ETS. She received her M.S. in statistics from Rutgers University in 2014 and a B.A. in mathematical science (with a minor in statistics) from Kean University in 2011. While completing her degrees, she provided instruction and tutoring in English as a second language and mathematics to middle school and high school students at a precollege program in Kean University. Her work at ETS has mostly focused on developing more accessible content assessments for English learners (ELs) and young language learners by examining the use of dual language assessments and using formative assessment to improve teaching and learning. Her areas of interest include assessing the language proficiency and content knowledge of ELs in K-12 domestically and internationally. Tolentino also speaks Spanish, which allows her to assist in different research projects in CLEAR and for other centers within ETS.
