Usama S. Ali is a senior measurement scientist in the Research division at ETS. He received a Ph.D. in educational psychology and an M.S. in statistics from the University of Illinois, Urbana–Champaign. He also has an M.S. in educational measurement and a B.S. in mathematics from the South Valley University, Egypt.
He currently works in the National and International Assessment center at ETS on the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) and the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) team. His research interests include response time modeling, psychometrics of new item types, adaptive designs, and test assembly.
