PRESENTER: Before you take your TOEFL iBT test, make sure you understand how it is structured. The test has four sections, reading, listening, speaking, and writing, and takes about two hours. First is the reading section. It has two academic reading passages, each with 10 multiple choice questions. Next is the listening section. It has five listening passages. Three are academic lectures with six questions each. And two are campus conversations with five questions each.

Next are the speaking and writing sections. In the speaking section, there are four tasks and you speak your responses into the microphone. The writing section has two tasks that you type into the computer or write on paper, depending on the testing option you chose. All four sections use real academic content, so you can prove you are ready for the English language demands of a university.
