Ru Lu is a senior psychometrician in the Research and Measurement Science area of the Research & Development division at ETS. She currently works in psychometrics for the Texas student assessment programs. In this role, she is responsible for the development and score reporting of the Texas Interim Assessments. She joined ETS in 2011 and has been responsible for the operational statistical analysis and the research for several large-scale assessment programs, such as the National Assessment of Educational Progress and the TOEIC® and SAT® assessments. Prior to joining ETS, she worked as a measurement statistician and data analyst for Excelsior College in Albany, New York, as well as a data analyst for the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System. She earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in measurement, statistics, and evaluation from the University of Maryland in College Park and a B.S. in accounting from Nankai University in China.
Lu’s research interests are in the area of multistage testing design, test equating and linking, and differential item functioning. She has contributed her research and expertise to several publications and presentations, including those for the National Council on Measurement in Education, the NAEP Design and Analysis Committee, and the American Education Research Association.
