Kathryn Hille provides psychometric support to the TOEIC® test program as an associate psychometrician at ETS. She graduated from Ohio University (Athens, Ohio) with a Ph.D. in educational research and evaluation in December 2019. In addition to her operational psychometric work at ETS, she has contributed to an alignment study of TOEIC and the Common European Framework of Reference and the creation of a user-friendly standard setting tool. Her research interests also include the interface between content and statistics when evaluating item performance.
Prior to coming to ETS in 2020, she worked as assistant director for testing and placement in the Ohio Program of Intensive English at Ohio University from 2011 to December 2019. Her assigned duties included the administration, scoring, and use of standardized English proficiency tests. In this role, she conducted various research and presentations in the field of English language testing. She also worked as an associate lecturer (2016–2019) and English as a second language instructor (2009–2016) at the same institution.
